When adjusted for your current weapon, the **Recoil Assist** M.O.D. (Macro On Demand) guides your Aim Analog Stick to reduce recoil-induced camera movement.

When properly tuned, it applies just enough opposing force to stabilize your aim during sustained ADS firing, without interfering with your natural stick input.

The tools provided with Recoil Assist; Quick Edit and Weapon Editor, can help you to better understand the recoil patterns of each weapon and how they affect your aim. And for gamers with unsteady hands or tremors, they can be transformative to fun, making it more straightforward to maintain a reasonable aim while firing.

By default, **Recoil Assist Activation** is set to **ADS FIRE**, only activating if you're Aiming Down Sights (ADS) while firing, leaving hip fire unaffected. If this doesn’t suit your game, see [**Menu: Adjustables**](https://guide.strikepack.com/dominator_eliminator_newexperience/strikepack-dominator-for-xbox/pages/MtJ2csOBRZg70R3IZjGP#id-7.-recoil-assist-activation) before returning to this page.

There are 2 ways to apply Recoil Assist: [**Quick Edit**](#quick-edit) and [**Weapon Editor**](#weapon-editor):

{% hint style="success" icon="bullseye" %}
**Quick Edit** will be familiar to users of the now-discontinued subscription. It's quick to setup using your Strikepack-enabled controller, requiring little ammunition. Both Vertical & Horizontal adjustment values apply constantly throughout your firing duration; sufficient for most weapons & games with simple recoil.
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="warning" icon="bullseye-pointer" %}
**Weapon Editor** is a powerful tool for creating & editing **Optimized Recoil Assist** using your Strikepack-enabled controller. Vertical & Horizontal values can be adjusted "per-number-of-bullets" throughout your firing duration, providing complete mastery to tame the wildest recoil. Edit further, and Export & Import .weapon files in **Web M.O.D. Central**. Share online!

Gameplay Checklist

Recoil Assist is best set up while in-game. Technically, you can make Quick Edit adjustments during a public match, but it’s more respectful to other players—and less distracting—to use a training area or private match, especially for Weapon Editor which requires time & ammo to setup.

**Checklist before entering Quick Edit or Weapon Editor**:

* [x] **Match Button & Stick Layouts:** Set these in [**Button Layout**](/dominator_eliminator_newexperience/strikepack-dominator-for-xbox/menu-button-layout.md) & [**Stick Layout**](/dominator_eliminator_newexperience/strikepack-dominator-for-xbox/menu-stick-layout.md).
* [x] **Recoil Assist Activation:** By default, Recoil Assist only applies to ADS—this can be changed in [**Adjustables**](https://guide.strikepack.com/dominator_eliminator_newexperience/strikepack-dominator-for-xbox/pages/MtJ2csOBRZg70R3IZjGP#id-7.-recoil-assist-activation))
* [x] **Trigger Deadzone:** Set this in [**Adjustables**](https://guide.strikepack.com/dominator_eliminator_newexperience/strikepack-dominator-for-xbox/pages/MtJ2csOBRZg70R3IZjGP#id-8.-trigger-deadzone).
* [x] **Position:** Mid-range, aimed at a wall or target—close enough to see where bullets hit.
* [x] **Optional:** Target dummy or friend on enemy team—the aim assist bubble slows the Aim Stick, which you may opt to adjust for.
* [x] **Weapon:** Switch to a weapon you want to make adjustments for.
* [x] **Take Notes:** M.O.D. settings? Game version? Platform? In-game settings? Attachments? Alt fire mode?
* [x] **Ammo:** Fully reload your magazine with plenty of ammunition to spare.
* [x] **8 Slots:** Swap to the Slot you want to use with your current weapon. See next step.

**Bullet Setup** (pulsing rumble) involves matching your in-game magazine size & fire duration.

You can set up to **50 Bullets Per Mag**, which equals **50 adjustable segments of Recoil Assist**. For simplicity, set this to match your weapon’s actual magazine size.

The LEDs show your selected value using a **tens (10's)** and **ones (1's)** system, so you can quickly confirm the exact number of bullets you've configured.

Use the animation & table below for guidance:

Bullet Editor

**Bullet Editor** is like Quick Edit, but it lets you create a Recoil Assist aim stick movement pattern bullet-by-bullet (segment-by-segment).

For best results, use a training area with access to all your weapons & attachments, where ammunition is unlimited. If your game applies aim assist to target dummies, test your adjustments against them for more practical tuning.

Your goal is to optimize throughout the entire firing duration — from a full magazine to empty.

There are several controls in Bullet Editor; see below:

| Create Recoil Assist Pattern: |

You've just calculated your firing duration, and Optimized Recoil Assist for recoil pattern changes that occur throughout that sustained fire.

**IMPORTANT:** To get the best out of your adjustments, get into the habit of releasing your Fire button while waiting for a reload to complete. This allows the Recoil Assist timing to sync with your full magazine.

{% hint style="info" icon="sparkles" %}
If you were working with a weapon that exceeds a 50 bullet magazine, this just means that after the 50th bullet, it will repeat the 50th bullet adjustment until you release your Fire button.
{% endhint %}
{% endstep %}

## Sharing Online

In [**M.O.D. CENTRAL WEB EDITION**](https://modcentral.collectivemindsstore.com/), you can read back your final Quick Edit values. Access the **Weapon Editor** user interface where you can edit further if needed. You can also export & import .weaponv3 files. These can then be shared online.

{% hint style="warning" icon="earth-americas" %}
When sharing Quick Edit values or exported .weaponv3 files online, always share information about everything you used: Fire Mode M.O.D. (usually Regular Fire or Rapid Fire), Game version & platform, and any in-game settings that affect aim sensitivity or recoil, such as Field of View (FOV), Response Curve, Sensitivity, Weapon Attachments, and Weapon Alt Fire Mode if applicable.

Specify whether Inverted (Y) Vertical Look was used. Settings created for Inverted will *not* work for Normal, and vice versa.
{% endhint %}

Congratulations, Recoil Assist is setup for your Primary Weapon. Consider working on your Secondary Weapon.
