**CM00141** / **CM00149**:  Functionally identical wired models that attach to the back (battery compartment) of the controller, offering a choice between four programmable paddles / back buttons.  Includes backplates and USB-C / Micro USB adapters for compatibility with first-party standard Xbox® controllers (Xbox Series X|S®, Xbox One®).  Designed for Xbox Series X|S®, Xbox One®, and PC gaming.  Compatible controllers are listed in the image below:

<mark style="color:red;">**Warning**</mark><mark style="color:red;">:</mark>  The **pre**-**installed Paddle Guards** on the Strike Pack Horizon (CM00141) protect its four flexible paddles from being bent backwards and broken.  This unit is to be used only with the guards and all four paddles in place.  Each paddle and guard is numbered, and must remain in the specific layout shown below:

<mark style="color:red;">**Removal of the guards or paddles is not covered your warranty**</mark><mark style="color:red;">.</mark>  This is due to the risk of damage to the PCB caused by improper handling or incorrect reinstallation.  Any unauthorized modification, including the removal or incorrect repositioning of the guards or paddles, will void the warranty and may render the device inoperable or permanently unable to connect to the app.  Additionally, damaged paddles are not covered under warranty, however, replacement paddles are available for purchase on the Collective Minds™ store.

* All new CM00141s include pre-installed Paddle Guards, and this is a condition of its warranty.
* The CM00141 unit is not to be sold in any other state.
* If you receive a CM00141 unit without its Paddle Guards, or with missing or repositioned paddles, please return the product to the store where it was purchased.  Note: This will not occur if you are purchasing directly from the Collective Minds™ store.
* A screwdriver is included with the CM00141, so you can slightly tighten or loosen the screws to adjust paddle tension if necessary.

You don’t have to use our cables, but ensure your cable supports data transfer and comes from a reputable brand like Anker™.  Cables that are power/charge-only or damaged are the most common reason users can’t connect or use the Strike Pack.  Use only 100W USB-C to USB-C cables, or 15W+ USB-A to USB-C cables.  Also, while the PS5®/PC DualSense™ Strike Pack comes with a USB-C to USB-C cable, it is fully compatible with USB-A to USB-C.  Be cautious with unknown USB-C to USB-C cables, as they’re not always built to standard and may damage the Strike Pack.

## Step 1 - Update Required

All STRIKEPACK HORIZON™ products require an update to the latest firmware before use.

Updating the firmware is a necessary part of owning a Collective Minds™ product.  You will need access to a device capable of performing the update, whether at home, a friend's place, a coffee shop, a library, or your workplace.  Due to the firmware's size, updates must be done using a **WIRED** connection:

1. It is easier to update with the Strike Pack detached/disconnected from your controller.
2. Using the included cable, or a suitable cable, plug the Strike Pack into a **PC**, **Mac**®, **Chromebook**™, or **Android**® device.
   * <mark style="color:red;">**iOS**</mark><mark style="color:red;">®</mark> <mark style="color:red;"></mark><mark style="color:red;">**devices block wired updating**</mark><mark style="color:red;">,</mark> so you <mark style="color:red;">**CANNOT**</mark> update the Strike Pack firmware via an iOS® device (iPhone/iPad), or your console for that matter.
3. Open the **Google Chrome**™ browser and visit the **Web Update Tool** at [**firmware**.**modcentral**.**ca**](https://firmware.modcentral.ca/)
4. Follow the on-screen instructions until the process is complete.  Wait for the "**Programming Device**" progress bar to fully finish and disappear before unplugging the Strike Pack.
5. The **STRIKEPACK CENTRAL**™ app will notify you and prevent access if your firmware is outdated.  Firmware updates are NOT released often.
6. PS5®/PC STRIKEPACK HORIZON™ VISTA for DualSense™ users, please ensure you are updated to **1**.**2**.**0**, then for PS5® use, you'll need to complete the special setup [**here**](https://guide.strikepack.com/horizon/ps5strikepacksetup).

Use the included USB cable to update the Strike Pack.  IF this is NOT an option, ensure your cable supports data transfer, is not extended via hubs or extension cables, and is NO longer than 10 ft (3 m).  USB-C to USB-C cables should be 100W.  USB-A to USB-C cables should be at least 15W.

* <mark style="color:red;">**Power**</mark><mark style="color:red;">/</mark><mark style="color:red;">**charge only or damaged cables are the most common cause of being unable to update and use the Strike Pack**</mark><mark style="color:red;">.</mark>

When possible, connect directly to the device you are using for the update.  USB hubs/extenders/converters or bad USB ports in general, may cause power issues and update failures.

Use a **PC**, **Mac**®, **Chromebook**™, or **Android**® phone or tablet to update the Strike Pack.

* <mark style="color:red;">**iOS devices block wired updating**</mark><mark style="color:red;">,</mark> so you <mark style="color:red;">**cannot**</mark> update the firmware via an iOS device (iPhone/iPad), or your console for that matter.

Update using the **Google Chrome**™ browser.  Other browsers like Edge™ and Firefox® may work fine, but some, like Safari™, will block the Web Update Tool from operating.

## (Optional) Memory Clear

A "**Memory Clear**" will remove any remnants of the previous firmware and prevent related issues.  This WILL NOT affect your STRIKEPACK CENTRAL™ app settings, but it may resolve otherwise unexplained issues with M.O.D.s and the app.  Perform a Memory Clear with the Strike Pack attached or detached from the controller by following the video instructions below:

**PS5**®/**PC STRIKEPACK HORIZON VISTA**™ **for DualSense®** — **Memory Clear Bug** (**1**.**1**.**24**)

In firmware version **1**.**1**.**24**, the Memory Clear is different due to a bug:

* Instead of displaying pink, the LED will turn <mark style="color:yellow;">**yellow**</mark><mark style="color:yellow;">,</mark> then the Strike Pack **will** Memory Clear but it will "crash", flashing <mark style="color:blue;">**blue**</mark><mark style="color:blue;">,</mark> **white**, and <mark style="color:red;">**red**</mark>**.**  After which, you must be **unplug**/**replug** to resume use.
* If you update to firmware version **1**.**2**.**3**, this issue will be completely fixed and it will be like the video again.

## Step 2 - Attach/Detach

Safely attaching/detaching, and the all-important product care...

If you want the connections on your STRIKEPACK HORIZON™ product to last, take extra care when attaching or detaching it from your controller—especially the PS5®/PC STRIKEPACK HORIZON VISTA™ for DualSense®—to avoid damaging its USB-C connector and hinge.  The hinge is designed to securely attach to the controller’s speaker grill holes. For Xbox® Strike Packs, which slide into your controller's battery compartment, ensure the correct backplate is first attached to the Strike Pack and fully clicked into place for a secure fit.  The backplates are labeled "XB Series" (for USB-C controllers) and "XB1" (for Micro USB controllers).  Use the USB-C or Micro USB adapter accordingly.  Never force the USB adapter, and if it does not align with your controller’s port, gently pinch both ends closer together before trying again.

Pro Tips:

Consider dedicating a controller to use with the Strike Pack so you don’t have to constantly detach, reattach, and reconnect.

If you have pets or children with a tendency to run through and yank your cable out, consider hiding it under a rug as with the long cable, you can probably do just that.

To safely detach the Strike Pack, first remove the cable, then unclip the hinge (or remove the USB adapter for Xbox® Strike Packs).  Flip your controller over and slide the Strike Pack straight up and off—never at an angle.  For more help, watch the videos below:

* **Mapping Mode**:  Prevents accidental remapping of paddles/back buttons.
* **Tournament Mode**:  Dedicated mapping; no app required for this mode.
* **GAMEPACK Mode**:  Set up multiple mapping profiles in the STRIKEPACK CENTRAL™ app.

The **STRIKEPACK CENTRAL**™ smartphone app is **EXCLUSIVE** to **STRIKEPACK HORIZON**™ products and is **REQUIRED** to access **M**.**O**.**D**.s (**M**acros **O**n **D**emand) on these models.  It is not required for Tournament Mode use, however it is required for the initial special setup to use PS5®/PC STRIKEPACK HORIZON VISTA™ with a PS5® console [**here**](https://guide.strikepack.com/horizon/ps5strikepacksetup).

STRIKEPACK CENTRAL™ minimum requirements are **Android 9**, **iOS 15**, or **later**.

STRIKEPACK CENTRAL™ replaces the M.O.D. CENTRAL™/M.O.D.|PASS™ system used in previous Strike Pack models, providing vastly improved real-time visual feedback via the app when operating the Strike Pack.  It offers a more modern experience while introducing new features, such as enhanced customization, the ability to store extensive settings, superior Recoil Assist adjustment and sharing (including better support for games requiring precise stick adjustments, like **R6 Siege**), and detailed long Macro recording, playback, and sharing.

As STRIKEPACK HORIZON™ products are priced higher than previous models, STRIKEPACK CENTRAL™ does not use a subscription model for its currently included content, and there are no current plans to introduce one for future content (subject to change).  The app is updated periodically with new features and improved game support as our team continues to add value.

In short, through the STRIKEPACK CENTRAL™ app, STRIKEPACK HORIZON™ products gain access to several evolving features, including the following and much more:

1. Ensure the Strike Pack firmware is updated.
2. Turn on Internet, GPS Location Services, and Bluetooth® on your smartphone or smart device.   Keep it within 30ft (9m) of your controller.  If your Wi-Fi signal is weak, try using mobile data.
3. Download the latest version of STRIKEPACK CENTRAL™ from your device's app store.
4. Allow all app permissions.  If you didn't, you may need to reinstall the app.
5. While stuck on connecting, try toggling off/on Wi-Fi & Bluetooth.
6. Try restarting your smartphone or smart device.

## Usage Guidelines

1. STRIKEPACK HORIZON™ products are wired lag free devices that require a continuous wired connection to the platform you are currently playing on.
2. :warning: NEVER plug the Strike Pack into a wall plug/fast charger as this risks damaging the device, voiding your warranty! :warning:
3. The included USB cable for Horizon (CM00141), Vista (CM00149), and Vista (CM00150) is 10ft (3m).  This should be long enough for most gamers.  Extensions or longer cables risk power loss/disconnections.
4. The pre-installed Paddle Guards on Horizon (CM00141) protect its four flexible paddles from being bent backwards and broken.  This product is only to be used with all four paddles, each paddle is numbered as are the guards, and they are not to be repositioned from their designated placement.
5. With DualSense® Strike Pack, the included USB cable is USB-C to C, but it will work with a USB-A to C cable as well.
6. It is mandatory to perform a Strike Pack firmware update out of the box.  Failing to do so will result in a non-functional product.
7. Update your controller's firmware.
8. Use the power button on your console to turn it on.  The Strike Pack should automatically turn on your controller.  If it fails to do so, this indicates a data connection issue, possibly a cable or controller port issue.  DO NOT manually turn on your controller as this will cause it to connect wirelessly instead of through the Strike Pack.  Check all connections, and if possible try another controller and cable.
9. To load/configure GAMEPACK M.O.D.s, this product requires a Bluetooth® connection to a compatible smartphone or smart device (Android 9, iOS 15, or later) running the STRIKEPACK CENTRAL™ app with internet.  Certain M.O.D.s require a continuous Bluetooth® connection.

10. Keep your smartphone/smart device charged, and perhaps on a vertical stand for the ultimate experience.

12. GAMEPACK Mode will switch to the last accessed GAMEPACK, which is retained in memory.
    * Newer GAMEPACKs require a constant connection to the app during play; a small sacrifice for a whole lot of features.  This is indicated by the Bluetooth® symbol on the pack's image.
13. Name/store up to 27 profiles per GAMEPACK to suit different gameplay strategies.  Profiles are stored locally.  The app now includes the ability to export the current profile from a GAMEPACK's <img src="https://1841283601-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FFYraHizgjOptWmwCAGKE%2Fuploads%2FX8HTWU7KRxdrP81G4yrN%2FSettings_Icon.png?alt=media&#x26;token=944585bb-7223-4d4a-b87b-1b0068e80520" alt="" data-size="line">**Settings** section to back it up for safe keeping.
    * :bangbang:<mark style="color:red;">**We highly suggest periodically backing up any profiles you care about to avoid lost time and effort**</mark><mark style="color:red;">!</mark>:bangbang:
14. :warning: If you uninstall/reinstall STRIKEPACK CENTRAL™, all profiles/settings will be cleared! :warning:  The app will also warn you if a GAMEPACK has a major update.  If you accept a major update, the corresponding 27 profiles will be cleared.  Profiles will be left alone for smaller updates.  Our team keeps major update frequency to an absolute minimum.
15. STRIKEPACK CENTRAL™ manuals are frequently updated with new information.  Features are subject to change.  If you encounter incorrect or missing information, feel free to DM us on Facebook® to get it corrected.
16. If you run into a technical issue, use STRIKEPACK CENTRAL™'s built-in support system to email our Support Team.  This will ask you some questions, then it will attach your current profile settings and device information to an email; please DO NOT remove any attached files.  Please DO NOT leave questions unanswered or you may not receive a response.  We reserve the right to cut support access for spamming or aggressive behavior.
17. M.O.D.s can be timing sensitive, and they will perform best when your game is installed and being played locally.  While PC is now supported, most of our testing is on console.  Results may vary with certain M.O.D.s due to differences in timing.
18. Any GAMEPACK that supports specific in-game settings will ONLY function as intended when your in-game settings are MATCHED with the GAMEPACK where requested, and set accordingly where requested.  Please pay attention to the GAMEPACK Requirements, also listed in <img src="https://1841283601-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FFYraHizgjOptWmwCAGKE%2Fuploads%2FX8HTWU7KRxdrP81G4yrN%2FSettings_Icon.png?alt=media&#x26;token=944585bb-7223-4d4a-b87b-1b0068e80520" alt="" data-size="line">Settings on the app.
19. Our team may remove, discontinue support for, or redesign any GAMEPACK or M.O.D. at any point for any reason, but usually when a M.O.D. is NO longer viable due to changes within the game.
20. Our team considers STRIKEPACK HORIZON™ a means to help you achieve your best within your skill bracket.  M.O.D.s are entirely optional fun, providing accessibility to include all gamers.  They are but a humble assist in a sea of cross-platform play where controller users are often matched against open platforms sporting brutal advantages, such as insane frame rates, top-tier macro keyboards and mice, and illegitimate outside exploits.
21. As with previous STRIKEPACK™ adapters, the STRIKEPACK HORIZON™ is a transparent device, as is its mapping capability.  This means that it seamlessly makes a wired connection between your controller and console, providing full functionality, while your console simply sees this setup as a standard controller.  The STRIKEPACK CENTRAL™ companion app, connected via Bluetooth® on a compatible smart device (Android 9, iOS 15, or later), provides optional M.O.D.s which are Macros On Demand in the form of GAMEPACKs.  These macros are simply sets of controller commands (or button presses if you will) that need to be seen by your console to function.  Our team is always looking to improve upon these macros.  STRIKEPACK HORIZON™ categorically CANNOT exceed existing gameplay limitations, which game developers may also rebalance at a moment's notice, changing what is possible.  M.O.D. effectiveness may vary based on the individual and various factors beyond our control.
