STRIKEPACK HORIZON™ - PS5® Quick Start

Gaming Adapter for DualSense® on PlayStation®5 + PC

This Quick Start guide is for using the STRIKEPACK HORIZON™ gaming adapter for the standard DualSense® controller on your PlayStation®5 console.

Before You Get Started

  • Update the STRIKEPACK HORIZON™ firmware before first use.

  • You must use a Standard DualSense® controller.

    • DualSense Edge™ is incompatible.

  • You will need the following:

    • PS5® or PS5® Pro console.

    • Standard DualSense® controller. It should be charged, updated, and paired to your PS5®.

    • STRIKEPACK HORIZON™ for PS5®.

    • Non-iOS® device to update the firmware, such as PC, Mac®, Chromebook™, or Android®.

    • Compatible browser that allows wired updating, such as Chrome™, Edge™, or Firefox®.

      • Restrictive browsers like Safari™ are incompatible.

    • USB-A data cable if your updater device does not have a USB-C port.

    • iOS® 15 or Android® 9 or higher version device with Bluetooth®, Location Services, and Internet Access ON. STRIKEPACK HORIZON™ app must be installed.

Step 1 — Update Firmware

  1. Do not attach the STRIKEPACK HORIZON™ to your controller yet.

  2. Instead, connect the STRIKEPACK HORIZON™ to a computing device using its included cable, or a reliable USB data cable.

  3. Open the Chrome™ browser and visit https://firmware.modcentral.ca

  4. Follow the on-screen instructions and install the latest firmware version.

NOTE: If you have attached to your controller already, holding Paddle Buttons 1 + 3 together while connecting will enter Update Mode (rainbow RGB LEDs).

Step 2 — Configure PS5® Settings

On your PS5® console:

  1. Go to: Settings → Accessories → Controller (General)

  2. Set:

Communication Method → Use USB Cable

Step 3 — Attach the STRIKEPACK HORIZON™

  1. Hold the PS logo button to power OFF your controller.

  2. Align the STRIKEPACK HORIZON™ adapter's USB-C connector with your controller's port.

  3. Press the top of the adapter firmly into place, so that it sits flush against your controller. There should be no gap between the front-top of the adapter and your controller.

  4. Secure the front hinge clip, pressing it into your controller's speaker grille holes.

  3. Open the STRIKEPACK HORIZON™ app on your iOS® or Android® smartphone or tablet.

  4. Allow all permissions and connect to the detected device.

  5. Please wait for setup to complete; when it does the adapter's LEDs will turn White.

Step 5 — Mapping Mode

STRIKEPACK HORIZON™, unlike previous STRIKEPACK™ products, does not share a single mapping configuration across modes. It is designed this way to reduce or eliminate the need to change your mapping when switching back and forth between your favorite games.

TOURNAMENT MODE (White Gearhead Eyes) has its own separate mapping that the app does not touch, configurable solely through Mapping Mode on your controller.

GAMEPACK MODE (Blue Gearhead Eyes) has separate mapping for each Profile created in the app. Upon entering a GAMEPACK Profile, mapping is configurable through Mapping on the app, or Mapping Mode on your controller.

Enter Mapping Mode

Hold the left-hand side unlabeled button for 300+ milliseconds to enter Mapping Mode. The LEDs will turn Purple.

Mapping a Controller Button

Hold only the controller button/s that you want mapped. Do not touch the sticks or anything you do not want included in the mapping.

  • Up to 4 controller buttons can held together to be mapped to a single Paddle Button.

  • Stick movement can be mapped as the nearest basic direction (1 of 8 directions at 100%).

  • While holding the desired controller button/s, tap the Paddle Button that you want to assign the mapping to. The LEDs will flash Green to confirm the change.

Clearing a Paddle Button

To clear or remove the mapping from a Paddle Button, just tap the Paddle Button by itself. The LEDs will flash Red to confirm the change.

Exit Mapping Mode

You can save and exit Mapping Mode by tap either unlabeled button.

Device LED Indicators

  • All Red Pulse — Waiting for initial PS5® and app setup

  • All White — PS5® Ready / Tournament Mode

  • All Orange — PS5® No USB data connection / normal in PC Gaming Mode

  • Blue Eyes — In a profile / M.O.D.s Active

  • Red Eyes — Not connected to app

  • Slot Indicators — See Shooter Studio below:

Shooter Studio

Shooter Studio is the latest and most configurable in-app pack our team has ever made. It can be adapted to almost any shooter-type game and you are encouraged to create a separate profile for each of your games.

This pack empowers the user to create, name, categorize, and configure their own Optimized Weapon settings using its Weapon Workshop.

  • On a per weapon basis, you can adjust Fire Mode settings, fine-tune Recoil Assist bullet-by-bullet, and apply additional M.O.D.s.

  • You can assign to each of the 9 Slots, and with the Slot Editor, you can configure the Slot Layout to work with how your game switches to weapons and equipment.

This pack is designed from the ground up for exporting and importing, so you can share your efforts, or edit the efforts of others.

The purpose of this Quick Start guide is not to explain all of this as there is in-app help text you can rely on. It is to point you in the general direction.

Create Profile

Tap on the Shooter Studio tile on the HOME screen, and its PROFILES screen will appear. It is recommended to tap the Plus , name your Profile (like the name of your game), and give it an icon, then save. Now tap on the your newly created Profile to enter it.

Match Settings

Tap the Gear at the top-right to enter Settings.

Make sure all Match In-Game Settings for Button & Stick Layouts, outlined in Orange, closely match with your in-game controls. This is highly important for M.O.D.s to go to the correct buttons and work correctly.

For the Aim Settings outlined in Blue, you can ignore these if you want to. They are advanced settings for users that want to make pack level adjustments to their controller sensitivity, instead of just adjusting it in the game itself.

Slots System

Most of the features are centered around the Slots system. Slots allow you to store different settings for different weapons:

Slots 1 & 2 (Cycle): Triangle (Switch Weapon Default)

By default, Slots 1 & 2 are configured to simply cycle between each other whenever Triangle is quickly tapped & released. This feature is intended for the standard Primary & Secondary Switch Weapon button that most popular shooters use.

  • The adapter's Front-LEDs indicate Mint Green for Primary (Slot 1), or Pale Red for Secondary (Slot 2).

  • To synchronize with your game at any point, switch to your in-game Primary Weapon and activate the Slot 1 Shortcut: While holding Touchpad, tap Triangle.

  • If you decide this feature is not to your liking, you can swap to either of Slots 3-9 and it will stop cycling. You can use the controller shortcuts listed below, or tap a Slot within the app to swap to it.

  • If your game requires tracking of additional weapons & equipment, or a different setup altogether, hold your finger on Edit Slots to go to the Slot Editor. From there, follow the in-app instructions to make changes.

Slot 2 (Secondary): Touchpad + Circle

Slot 3: Touchpad + Cross

Slot 8: Touchpad + L2 + Square

Slot 9: In-App Selection Only

Pulsing White Grey Front-LEDs

Slot 9 is best suited for a tool or melee. It does not have a dedicated Controller Shortcut, but you can still assign a Direct Swap button to it in Edit Slots.

NOTE: In the example image above, Up D-Pad has been assigned to match the example game's controls which use Up D-Pad to switch to the game's Mallet Tool for construction.

Important Connection Notes

  • The STRIKEPACK HORIZON™ requires a continuous wired connection to the PS5® to use in general, and a continuous Bluetooth® connection to the STRIKEPACK HORIZON™ app to use M.O.D.s (Macros On Demand).

  • Use the included USB-C cable or high-quality USB data cables only.

  • Avoid USB hubs or extension cables as they can lower the cable signal quality and cause disconnects.

  • Your controller will not charge when the STRIKEPACK HORIZON™ is attached (it should maintain an existing charge though).

  • Never connect the STRIKEPACK HORIZON™ to a wall charger as this can potentially cause damage that will void your warranty.
