<mark style="color:blue;">**In the video above,**</mark> you'll learn how to use **Shooter Studio** on the **STRIKEPACK HORIZON** app to create **Weapon Recoil Assist** for your **Favorite Weapon** in your **Favorite Game**.

<mark style="color:blue;">**Written Steps:**</mark>

{% stepper %}
{% step %} <img src="https://1841283601-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FFYraHizgjOptWmwCAGKE%2Fuploads%2FsUgzRD8aE22qsSxZ4cmI%2FTap_Icon.svg?alt=media&amp;token=70edd8e3-3389-4437-ae55-60bc2b67ec86" alt="" data-size="line"> **Tap** the <i class="fa-plus" style="color:$primary;">:plus:</i> **Plus** button to create a profile for your favorite game. Name the profile and pick an icon.
&#x20;<img src="https://1841283601-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FFYraHizgjOptWmwCAGKE%2Fuploads%2FsUgzRD8aE22qsSxZ4cmI%2FTap_Icon.svg?alt=media&amp;token=70edd8e3-3389-4437-ae55-60bc2b67ec86" alt="" data-size="line"> **Tap** that icon to launch your game profile. Now swipe to the bottom and choose a **Quick Start Template** for this guide, such as **Loadout**.

***

{% endstep %}

{% step %}
Focus on Slot 1 for now. You'll create and place your first Weapon Recoil Assist here.
&#x20;<img src="https://1841283601-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FFYraHizgjOptWmwCAGKE%2Fuploads%2FsUgzRD8aE22qsSxZ4cmI%2FTap_Icon.svg?alt=media&amp;token=70edd8e3-3389-4437-ae55-60bc2b67ec86" alt="" data-size="line"> **Tap** **Create Equip**. Name the weapon and pick an icon that you feel best represents the weapon.

***

{% endstep %}

{% step %}
You can also create and choose a Category, which will be helpful for sorting once you've created all the weapons in your game. Assault seems an appropriate name for the category for this weapon.

***

{% endstep %}

{% step %}

You can set your weapon's **Fire Mode** next. In this example, you may want to leave it as Regular Fire since it is a fully automatic weapon.

***

{% endstep %}

{% step %} <img src="https://1841283601-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FFYraHizgjOptWmwCAGKE%2Fuploads%2FsUgzRD8aE22qsSxZ4cmI%2FTap_Icon.svg?alt=media&amp;token=70edd8e3-3389-4437-ae55-60bc2b67ec86" alt="" data-size="line"> **Tap** **Edit Recoil Pattern**. You can begin Recoil Assist creation by first setting the number of bullets in your weapon's magazine. In this example, that's **10**.

* By setting 10 bullets, you now have 10 steps in which the Recoil Assist Pattern can be adjusted differently.

***

{% endstep %}

{% step %}
When creating Recoil Assist Pattern's, you can use the <img src="https://1841283601-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FFYraHizgjOptWmwCAGKE%2Fuploads%2FiG1JBf21gT87xJQmQrdd%2FPS_Button.svg?alt=media&amp;token=1a3f2dad-8f62-4eb7-a386-e3d4dced5951" alt="" data-size="line"> **PlayStation®** or <img src="https://1841283601-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FFYraHizgjOptWmwCAGKE%2Fuploads%2FjZkdFVp76upZmTsNfSGe%2FXB_Home.svg?alt=media&amp;token=b5db953f-caf7-49d1-a9b6-c073631333fd" alt="" data-size="line"> **Xbox®** button for testing weapon fire to see where your recoil is at. Try that now. **You'll notice that only one bullet is fired**.

***

{% endstep %}

{% step %}
That is because you're currently on **Bullet 1**. You should now adjust the time between bullets. Use <img src="https://1841283601-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FFYraHizgjOptWmwCAGKE%2Fuploads%2F8CjbnIYz2nRe93QYN7h5%2FPS_R3.svg?alt=media&amp;token=126d4ad2-79b2-450f-a18f-19f2eff56e3b" alt="" data-size="line"> <img src="https://1841283601-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FFYraHizgjOptWmwCAGKE%2Fuploads%2FSiEUf6x6c2YBJOkm8zhi%2FXB_RS.svg?alt=media&amp;token=c30e040b-84de-49a2-896b-31a9b9a4dc3d" alt="" data-size="line"> **Right Stick Press** to increase the time. The goal here is to increase the time to determine when the next bullet is fired.

***

{% endstep %}

{% step %}
Test the time again to see if one or two bullets fire. If only one bullet fires, continue to increase the time and test fire until you can get two bullets to fire. Once you get two bullets to fire, decrease the time until you've determined and adjusted for the longest time between bullets.

* It's important to be on the conservative side of the time to make sure that the Recoil Assist Pattern is always being applied only to the intended bullet.
* Now that you think you have the timing, you can <img src="https://1841283601-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FFYraHizgjOptWmwCAGKE%2Fuploads%2FsUgzRD8aE22qsSxZ4cmI%2FTap_Icon.svg?alt=media&amp;token=70edd8e3-3389-4437-ae55-60bc2b67ec86" alt="" data-size="line"> **tap** the <i class="fa-square-down">:square-down:</i> **Copy to Next Bullet icon** to copy the Time (MS) to the next bullet.
* You'll have to scroll and <img src="https://1841283601-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FFYraHizgjOptWmwCAGKE%2Fuploads%2FsUgzRD8aE22qsSxZ4cmI%2FTap_Icon.svg?alt=media&amp;token=70edd8e3-3389-4437-ae55-60bc2b67ec86" alt="" data-size="line"> **tap** the icon for each subsequent bullet to copy that time to the next bullet in the mag.
* Once you're at the 10th and final bullet in the mag, do a test fire to see the entire recoil pattern.

***

{% endstep %}

{% step %}
You can use the Left and Right Bumpers to navigate to the bullet you want to edit.
&#x20;Left Bumper navigates towards the first bullet, and Right Bumper navigates towards the last bullet. Navigate to the second bullet so you can start creating your Recoil Assist Pattern.

***

{% endstep %}

{% step %}
The test fire shows the placement of the two bullets. The goal is to move the second bullet hole into the position of the first bullet hole.
&#x20;To do this, simply use the directional pad to move the second bullet to the position of the first bullet. This simply becomes a process of test firing to check your adjustment over and over until you are happy with the overlap positioning of each bullet.
&#x20;Once you have the position nailed, you can just <img src="https://1841283601-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FFYraHizgjOptWmwCAGKE%2Fuploads%2FsUgzRD8aE22qsSxZ4cmI%2FTap_Icon.svg?alt=media&amp;token=70edd8e3-3389-4437-ae55-60bc2b67ec86" alt="" data-size="line"> **tap** the Bumper to move on to the next bullet. Now for the third bullet, just repeat the process.

***

{% endstep %}

{% step %}
It's recommended to reload after each test fire as it'll allow for more accurate Recoil Assist.
&#x20;It also helps you keep track of bullets remaining in the mag.
&#x20;This is important in case the bullet timing is not consistent for a given weapon or you have not got the timing between each bullet quite right.
&#x20;As you can see in the video, even though it's on Bullet 3, the test fire reveals that it fires four bullets. If this happens, you'll need to adjust the time between bullets, as shown in the video.

***

{% endstep %}

{% step %}
The video will now show Bullet 3 and 4 being adjusted, but then for the purpose of this guide, it'll then speed though majority of the Bullet adjustments as your settings will be much different from the examples here. For your reference, all footage remains intact in case you want to slow it down for review.

* You can start to see the flexibility of the system.
  &#x20;It makes creating your own personal Recoil Assist Patterns so easy.
  &#x20;In future guides, you'll see how to share these patterns online or even import patterns others have made. Now the video will fast forward until Bullet 10.

***

{% endstep %}

{% step %}
The video is now at the 10th and final Bullet.
&#x20;As you get the hang of this process, you'll easily create Recoil Assist Patterns for every weapon in all of your favorite games. Having Recoil Assist Patterns for all of your weapons will greatly reduce your aim strain and allow you to enjoy and prolong your gaming sessions.

***

{% endstep %}

{% step %}
Now back out of the Recoil Editor and test the weapon.
&#x20;Remember to <img src="https://1841283601-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FFYraHizgjOptWmwCAGKE%2Fuploads%2FsUgzRD8aE22qsSxZ4cmI%2FTap_Icon.svg?alt=media&amp;token=70edd8e3-3389-4437-ae55-60bc2b67ec86" alt="" data-size="line"> **tap** the weapon setup you've just created and edited to assign it to Slot 1.

{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

***

Most modern games have some variability to the weapon recoils.
&#x20;So don't be alarmed if you cannot get it to be a perfect overlap.
&#x20;That is normal.
&#x20;The goal is simply to get it as close as you can to reduce your aim fatigue.
&#x20;Thanks for following this guide and remember to share with your friends to improve accessibility everywhere.

#### **Additional Tips:**

One of the easier ways to share your weapons with others, especially when you have done most or all of them, is to share your whole profile, which you can do after creating a [**Profile Backup**](/horizon/strikepack-horizon-app-guide/shooter-studio-guide/5-profile-backup-and-restore.md).

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://guide.strikepack.com/horizon/strikepack-horizon-app-guide/shooter-studio-guide/10-creating-your-own-weapon-recoil-assist.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
