This section explains how to connect the <mark style="color:green;">**Strikepack Horizon (CM00141)**</mark> or <mark style="color:green;">**Strikepack Horizon Vista (CM00149)**</mark> to the **standard** controller for the **Xbox Series X|S®** and **Xbox One®** consoles, and PC gaming. Before you begin, make sure your Strikepack is [**updated**](#firmware-update) to firmware version **3.1.43**. Select the on-screen "**Connect**" button. Select "**StrikePack Horizon**" from the pop up list, and select the "**Connect**" button from there.

Select "**Check for New Firmware…**" then select the "**Latest: 3.1.24**" to start the update. The tool will begin "**Programming Device, please wait**".

Once the update is complete, if you let it finish "**Waiting for device…**", the "**Device Info**" will reappear, confirming the Strikepack firmware version. You can now safely unplug it.

#### <mark style="color:yellow;">Function/Restart Button</mark>

The two unlabeled buttons which previously did the exact same thing, now have distinct functionality, and they have been renamed the **Function** button and **Restart** button accordingly.

* **Strikepack Horizon or Vista for Xbox®.**
* **Standard Xbox® controller (**:no\_entry: *<mark style="color:red;">**Sorry, Elite™ is incompatible**</mark>***).**
  * **You can check the battery compartment for the controller version. The newest is 1914 introduced with Series XS generation, which is the model with the USB-C port and share button in the middle. Older XB1 generation models 1537, 1697, 1708 are also supported.**
* **Xbox Series X|S® or Xbox One®/One X® console, or gaming PC.**
  * **We've only tested the consoles and Windows® 11/10, but Xbox Cloud® and most devices that accept a wired Xbox® controller connection should also work fine.**
* **Phone or tablet device with Android® 9, iOS® 15, or higher.**
* **Bluetooth®, Location Services, and Internet settings ON.**
* **Latest Strikepack Central app.**

#### <mark style="color:green;">Power ON your Xbox® Console or PC</mark>

Some gamers like to dedicate an Xbox® controller to the Strikepack. Perhaps you have a newly unboxed controller. *<mark style="color:red;">**Don't attach the Strikepack yet!**</mark>* Connect the controller to your Xbox® console or PC with your Strikepack cable. This way you can check that the USB-C port on your controller and cable are functioning correctly.

* Connect the cable between your controller and Xbox® (or PC). <mark style="color:red;">**Do not touch**</mark> the Xbox® Home button on the controller. Wait for the controller to light up and turn on by itself.
* Make sure the controller is updated using the Xbox® Accessories app.

Please make sure you are **not holding** any buttons while connecting to your console (or PC), so as to avoid accidently turning on the controller yourself. Rather, the controller should light up and turn on automatically to confirm a wired data connection through the Strikepack.

* The Strikepack Gearhead Eyes will be <mark style="color:red;">**Red**</mark> to indicate that the Strikepack is neither connected or asking to connect to the Strikepack Central app, so you'll want to open the app now.

If asked, "**Allow All Permissions**". The app will automatically detect your Strikepack, but it may take a moment. Your Strikepack—enabled controller is connected to the Strikepack Central app. It is ready to use with your Xbox® console or PC!

Note: On the Strikepack Horizon or Vista for Xbox®/PC, the Strikepack Gearhead Eyes will turn <mark style="color:red;">**Red**</mark> when it <mark style="color:red;">**loses connection to the app or the app is closed**</mark>, **White** in **Tournament Mode**, <mark style="color:green;">**Green**</mark> when you enter <mark style="color:green;">**Gamepacks**</mark>, or <mark style="color:purple;">**Purple**</mark> when you enter <mark style="color:purple;">**Mapping Mode**</mark>. This is normal. *What's not normal is if the Gearhead Eyes turn <mark style="color:blue;">**PlayStation® Blue**</mark> instead of <mark style="color:green;">**Xbox® Green**</mark>, as that would indicate a data connection issue.* Note that the LEDs on the top of the Strikepack are typically controlled by each Gamepack and are used to indicate Gamepack status.

All Strikepack Horizon gaming adapters are compatible with PC gaming.

1. Strikepack Horizon or Vista for Xbox® do not display any special LEDs to indicate PC gaming. They are on the same on PC as they are on console.
2. The input response time (polling rate) meets the Xbox® controller standard on PC.
3. All Strikepack Horizon gaming adapters have currently only been tested in Windows® 11/10. If we hear strong reports that they are working on other PC operating systems, we will list them here.
4. If you don't hear audio through your controller's 3.5mm audio port, you may need to manually select "Speakers (Xbox Wireless Controller)" as your Sound Output, or you may need to adjust your volume.

Our development prioritizes console when it comes to M.O.D.s (Macros On Demand). While Xbox Play Anywhere® versions and Xbox Cloud® with a decent connection should have no issues, Steam® and other store versions of games may in some cases differ enough that a M.O.D. may not work or at least may not work quite the way it should. With modern games though, this is becoming a rarer occurrence.
